The classic debut album from The Lovetones. Recorded at Sydney’s Electric Avenue by seasoned producer Phil Punch (Cruel Sea, Died Pretty) and young up and comer Jason Blackwell (Jodie Phylis, Golden Rough), the four month sessions proved an exercise in song-craft, with the original takes done live while enhanced by textural overdubs. The result is an illuminating piece of work from a band ready to recapture the power of pop on both record and the live stage. 'Be What You Want' proves that all the world really needs is The Lovetones. The Album has since been licensed internationally to Bomp Records USA and Planet Records Brazil.

After enjoying the critical success of Be What You Want, touring Australia extensively and even supporting Morrissey during his first ever solo Australian tour, Tow contributed two brilliant tracks to The Brian Jonestown Massacre’s sonic mastery of 2003, …And This Is Our Music.

Since then the Lovetones produced another classic album in 2005's Meditations and are currently recording the follow-up for release in 2007. They also appear on the Northern Star compilations Psychedelica Vols: 1 & 2.
